One of maybe 10 nights a year when I love living out here.

February 26th, 2008

I just went outside to take the trash out and I took my time. It’s so nice outside I wanted to relish every moment. Even the stench of the trash bin didn’t make me wince because it was just SO DARN NICE OUT THERE. This is the time of year when I get a little crazy about just how much I love the evening weather. Don’t get me wrong, the days are great when it’s in the 70’s and sunny, but the nights are just, well, magical. Yes, I used that horrible cheesy word, but it is! The breeze is blowing and it’s cool and crisp and I just want to run around the driveway with one of those streamers they use in gymnastics competitions to celebrate just how wonderful it is. Sigh. Bad visual, huh?

I better enjoy the nice weather now, though, because soon I’ll be back to sweating my way through summer. Ick.

I hear that. It’s nice to see that other people stop to appreciate the world around them, for more than the simple reason that its cool enough outside to not be able to bake cookies on the sidewalk.

Most of my family and friends make fun of me for “appreciating nature”, which is what I tell them I am doing when I moblog pictures of some cool cloud formations, or a nice sunset. Christine once called me crazy because I sat outside to watch the sun set once…probably because it was 110F at the time, but I had gotten out of the pool so I had evaporative cooling keeping me comfy.

I guess more people would stop to appreciate the world around them if it just wasn’t so darn hot out, which is, as you pointed out, why weather like this is really cool…no pun intended :P

My name is Shari, just left my twenties and I finally feel "old enough". No kids, just a great husband who is different from me in just enough ways to keep it interesting. We have some lovely pet fish, but reading through just a few posts will reveal that I'm obsessed with all things kitty related. What else? Born in the midwest, raised from age 6 out here in the Southwest, I love all things old fashioned, but I can't go a day without my google reader.
