Jeramiah - It always sounds so easy and obvious, like you said, but what we've ended up with is a house full of the same neutral colors! I'm learning to add some color here and there. A little red in the kitchen, some purple in the bedroom. That goes a long way to liven up all the cream, gold and brown in EVERY room. (I'm not even kidding). I'm trying to work turquoise in somewhere now, maybe the living room!

Thanks for your input, your point of buying a little at a time to make sure it's right is a good one.

One thing I've learned about looking at model homes even is that the reason everything looks so damn nice is that everything matches in someway. I know this sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how fast we forget that when we go shopping for home improvement. So we decided on a color scheme for the walls, and based all furniture off that. It's working rather well for us.

Sometimes it can take a while to put it all together especially if you're not Bill Gates and can afford anything. Buying a little at a time makes us ask ourselves if it's the right purchase.
